For the most part, we exist in a numb, dead society.
I’m doing my best to be alive and running in the mountains is the best way I’ve found to do that.

 And because I love the effortlessness that sometimes occurs while cruising down a cushy pine-needle singletrack or even while grinding up a switchback above tree line. I love how I can run up and into a mountain cirque or over a pass and be completely dwarfed and humbled by the sheer immensity and grandiosity of the landscape and I love flying down the other side with the breeze in my hair and the gravel in my shoes and the burning in my quads and the branches in my face and then when I'm finally all worn out there's nothing like
peeling my shoes off and just sitting. Just being at rest.

Running sharpens the focus on life and intensifies the emotions.

Is there any better reason to do anything?

After two easy weeks of jogging and a party weekend the normality has to come back into life.




Today   preparation for my first Ultra Marathon started and a lot of work has to be done in the next twelve weeks. So I will start with basics again… collecting km´s … but this time the weekly km and time average is a bit bigger then before.

36hours after BMW Frankfurt Marathon 2012
Here I´m again back in normality …what a Sunday awesome run missed my target only by a few minutes .

Finishing time 4:06:19 h/m/s that’s more than 20 minutes faster as my first Marathon in Helsinki. I´m getting  a better feeling for the distance and  had no pain at all just great. Now I know what´s possible and there is much more possible as …just to finish  
I will start working now on speed skills over the winter time and I also might do some little HalfMarathonEvents beginning 2013 or  in winter to get in shape for the Spring Marathon time.

Here we are again …………..D-Day

4hours before BMW Frankfurt Marathon , just had a little breakfast some toast , bananas and my tee. I´m know getting a little bit nervous  I can feel my blood pressure rising slowly .  I´m not sure what this day will bring the track will be very  crowded almost 16000 Runners singed in today which is a new record for Germany  so it might not be possible to make a PB time …lets wait and see.

14days till Frankfurt …lots of training …I´m already running; eating ;drinking; forting; sleeping and smelling like a dog .

Awesome but very tough week ....made lots of Km´s this week  and I also  was able to push the limit a bit more.
In that  picture you can see my perspective of Sunday s uphill struggle for almost 12km
luckily there was not a tree in the way.

BumBum my new guns ...fast colours and light .  Lets see if my new guns can push me more. Made 82km last week what is a lot for me ...so I will now push the limits from week to week.
